Could It Be?…Bliss

I was not planning on posting today, at least not what I am about to speak on if anything at all. However I am called to write on this at this moment because it just really hit me hard in a good way today. A works in progress. So I ask myself, could it be bliss?

After sharing my weekend events with a friend today, she commented to me, “You are just in your own world.” Upon that split second thought one would, well I would think to take offense to the comment in not really understanding the context but then in my mind I shook my head and thought…well yes, yes I am in my own world! If being in my own world means I am going for what I want, not waiting for someone to join me when I want to go, do, be, see (most of the time, there are just some places you should not go alone) in order to enjoy my life, then yes in my own world is where I am. I own and honor that.

I think this comment struck off an earlier cord when I read this morning an email that I subscribe to from Danielle Laporte, titled “Disruptive Joy” where she discusses how when we are joyful we are also quick to bury the feeling, the look and recognition of the ‘joy’ moments in our life. To recognize joy is to recognize the not so joyful, unhappy or painful moments in our life as well and therefore we do not call enough attention to it because we do no want to get too happy because that would just be too much. When we are too happy we also recognize what makes us really unhappy and we have to do something about that, not just do something but be aware that we are unhappy and that changes are not only needed but required, how uncomfortable…the horror! This all hit a major core with me because I am seemingly recognize this fact and yet I am awake, I mean I probably still have some work to do in this area but I am alert to the facts.

I am ready to live in my joy and the work that goes along with it. I am making decisions now that will positively impact my future life. I attended an awesome seminar this weekend, ‘How to Make it in Fashion’ by Fashionista.com (which I will post about later in the week). I literally stumbled upon knowing about this seminar which I was so excited to attend and left with legitimate and actionable ideas to build upon.

Anywho, my point is, I wanted to move toward my passion for fashion and beauty, so I started blogging about myself and what I want and now my eyes are widened open to the small, yet major opportunities to build upon now to progress myself toward becoming a true blue fashion stylist. Even today I noticed a post on Instagram regarding a Beauty Trend Show happening this coming weekend at Nordstrom in Fashion Valley mall, here in San Diego. Nordstrom, beauty products, a makeover and good photos to boot! Sounds like my kind of business and fun! Possibly a future blog post on the horizon.

Possibilities to say yes are being called into my life. It is juicy, exciting and sweetly scary…Blogging has been so cathartic in this short period of time, healing wounds so my heart will open up to what my mind and soul really want and need.

To top it off, this evening I read a Facebook post by Liz Dialto, also found on her website, regarding honoring your ecstasy, which further cemented that we should show, share an revel in our ecstasy. Wow, hallelujah! After reading this, I strolled down the street to my yoga class where the instructor discussed the theme of today’s class, to be giving, based on the fast approaching Thanksgiving holiday. Essentially, he went on to say, in a nutshell, that you must give to yourself and give well in order to have something to give to others.

I mean, is the universe speaking to me or is it speaking to me?!

Do you, be happy, show it and share it! Do not be embarrassed, hide it or feel guilty about it. No shame in living in your bliss! Just a side note to you (and to myself), to live your bliss you have got to recognize AND be brave enough to cut out the crap stuff that makes you miserable…Deal? I’m in!

Live life in style.

XO, Lysandra

  1. When you quoted “To recognize joy is to recognize the not so joyful, unhappy or painful moments in our life as well and therefore we do not call enough attention to it because we do no want to get too happy because that would just be too much.” That was good I have found that I needed to recondition my mind to take joy to the fullest in each milestone. It causes me to push passed the giving up moments we all have… Thanks for sharing http://www.legacychangers.org
